Come see my lens at squidoo. It made it into the top 100! Woo hoo! I’m excited.

I’m working on being a giant. You must have 50 lenses to make the giant squids. I have 57 lenses so far.

The next giants are appointed Sept. 30th.

poet

An Oak’s Breath

A wind this way does blow
A song this way does sing
A voice this way does speak

Of simpler things, not weak
A tongue upon my cheek
It is clarity I do seek
Of a tomorrow no longer bleak

Of you I do bequeathe
All that knows how to breathe
And life remains a soothing sound
My soul grows strong

An oak’s breath- a sweet scent
In a mountain I have lived
No more sorrow
I have found the gold

The search for which I did seek

Poetry for and from the Soul May 25, 2008

Poetry for and from the Soul

Poetry For and From the Soul

A collection of poems reflecting the journey towards knowing thyself

By Patricia Sanders

Poetry For and From the Soul is an eclectic collection of poetry from author Patricia Sanders. In this work, the author touches upon themes such as love and loss, but also has elements of nature and the passage of time. In “Time Says,” the author draws a parallel between the passage of time and the end of a relationship.

Time says
Goodbye
Standing there
Fake stones
Avoiding the sun
My face
Shocked by
The coldness
Of the air
Stood silent
And fell
To pieces

Likewise in “Through the River,” natural elements are used to embrace the somber tone of her mood.

You
That I left
Behind
Suddenly
Drift along
A boat that sails
Through
The river
Of my mind

“Poetry For and From the Soul” is and intriquing collection of poetry that may appeal to a wide variety of readers.

Casting Away Shadows

From Casting Away Shadows

Casting Away Shadows

The light has come
To cast away the shadows
In time’s remaining hands
All that was left undone
Becomes a finished chore

Dancing into the light
Of remembrance
Of who I am
My sacredness
A key I have turned
Unlocking
My worthiness
With timid hands
That forgot
How to shine

The shadows barely there
Anymore
As they come
Into the light
To merge
Into wholeness

As Timeless As Creation

Bring joy
To this table
My worn out heart
Tired from
Disappointments
Bad choices
Wrong turns
Accepts
This face
As its own

Bring love
To this room
Mending
What was broken by time
Reconciling false beliefs
With the magic
Of its touch
The softness of its reach

Bring laughter
To this home
Uplifting views
Of serious disdain
Releasing illusions
Inviting life in though
Doors that were closed
By harsher lessons of life

Bring light
In its purest form
The dance of the soul
The flight of the heart
An embrace

As timeless as creation

Upon my soul March 6, 2008

        Upon My Soul

On ground of sacred Earth

The ringing of bells

Can be heard

Calling us to remember

A truth veiled lightly

In a blanket of forgetfulness

I’ll find me there

Where angel’s songs

Upon my ears

Do greet the morning sun

And in the cracks

My worthiness

I left unkempt

In a long forgotten place

Sullen

The road more frequently traveled

When joy forgot her face

The child inside

A voice so long unheard

Safely tucked into the womb

Of love’s sweet arms

Woven of all that glitters

(another poem from my book)

His Beauty Undisturbed

His beauty undisturbed

A sad bird cries

And echoes silently

Into waking rest

Come hither to me

Light does beckon

His soul does spy

An eyelid lifts

His vision new

On dawn’s uplifting view

And here he whispers

Of divine

A wisdom

Quiet and unspoken

May I know

What from your tongue

Sits heavy

And does not fall

Your heart

Its beating

A song unheard

But ears

That listen

Have heard

The beauty

You hold

Undisturbed

(another poem from my book)

Blind Wolf

Sky of purple time

Filled of broken windows

Remain untouched

By the purity

Of a scented hand

That reaches

Outside of blue shores

Love-a blind wolf

Howls to a sacred moon

That longs

With tired birds

Of procrastination

Bringing passersby

Lonely hitchhikers

Timeless travelers

That fear not only

The coldness of winter’s thorns

But the openness of spring

The Arrow’s Journey-poem from my book Jewels of Awe December 22, 2007

The Arrow’s Journey
We wear no mask
Upon our face
We walk around
Made of glass
Easily shattered
Wounded or broken
We aim our arrow
Straight for our target:Happiness

What gets in the way?

The loss of innocence

A tree

Our own hands

Bowl of Fruit- from Jewels of Awe December 22, 2007

Bowl of Fruit

Your face
Turns dark
A shadow on the wall
Hides from view
I miss the sight
Of love
The scent of morning dew
Dust fills the room
Paintings hang
Upside down
Fruit sits quietly
In a bowl
Waiting…

To be eaten

Endless Beauty- a poem from my book Jewels of Awe December 22, 2007

Endless Beauty

Dream
Into being
Happiness
Of a garden
Planted with seeds
Of joy

Growing into
Full blooms
Of peaceful contentment

Blossoming
Into light
Filled of

Endless beauty

We Began- a poem from Journey of A Woman December 22, 2007

We Began
Many tides
Rolling into my heart
Fingers like bows
Take their aim
Sharp as the sky
On a cold winter’s day
I will give you
All the sunrise
Has to offer
Blue skies
Calling me again
Lift the heaviness
From your hands
With a sweet smile
Tell time
It has no reason
To worry
We began
With always written
Across destiny
